The new Spencer’s Gifts Headquarters was conceived as a modern workplace inspired by the rhythm and energy of the urban landscape. Rather than relying on overt branding, the design was deliberate and restrained—recognizing that Spencer’s products are their truest expression of identity. Branding elements were placed with intention, ensuring they supported rather than overshadowed the workplace experience.
The planning strategy was driven by a building expansion, which introduced new workspace and connected it to the existing campus. At the core, a central headhouse acts as the heart of the headquarters, linked by distinct corridors that guide circulation while maintaining connectivity. Within this hub, a dynamic new lobby and expansive, multi-functional conference spaces set the tone—flexible, professional, and welcoming.
Materiality drew from urban references, expressed in refined textures, geometric details, and a balanced palette of neutrals accented with select pops of color and texture. The result is an environment that feels both dynamic and sophisticated, supporting creativity without relying on heavy-handed brand cues.
My role began as Lead Designer, where I directed the concept design and planning strategy in close collaboration with the client. As the team expanded, my role evolved into providing oversight—ensuring the design vision remained strong while mentoring the team to carry it forward through execution.
The new headquarters reflects Spencer’s culture with subtlety and confidence—a workplace that supports connection, adaptability, and growth while quietly embodying the brand’s spirit.
